Arian completed his BA in Linguistics at the University of Victoria, and is currently a PhD candidate in Linguistics: Cognitive Systems at the University of British Columbia. His research is focused on the detection of clinical states through changes to speech motor control. He is the founder of the Speech and Neurological Disease (SaND) research group at the University of British Columbia, and an Applied Science advisor at Tenvos incorporated. As a research associate at RHAD, Arian works on the development of speech-based continuous monitoring systems for early disease detection.
